RC Visor Care

If you ordered a Ready To Paint RC Helmet with a visor installed, the visor can be removed for painting or cleaning. The visors are double layered and have adhesive tint on the plastic parts. Installing or handling incorrectly can damage the tint. When bending to install, you must remember that the film can only be bent on convex side. If it it is bent on the concave side, it can quickly buckle and release the film, and you will not be able to repair without making a permanent crease.

For painting, you can slide in some thick paper or plastic and cover the interior visors. If possible, I recommend not removing the outer visor at all.

For cleaning, electric air dusters or compressed air can be used to force out any dust. The inner visor is easily removed so you can wipe all surfaces, but avoid wiping the white painted area on the inner visor. Before shipping, I use Zeiss lens wipes and, if there is still any dust after reinstalling, I blast air between the two visor layers.
